We need you to help us. If your heart reaches out to these otherwise throwaway kittens and you'd like to have the satisfaction of helping them find their forever home, please e-mail or call, or, show up at any of our adoption venues. We cooperate with several of our local high schools and Orange County to enable the students to acquire their community service for Bright Futures or for minor infractions.
About Our Kittens
We have a lot of new kittens and well-adjusted adults who are now available for adoption so contact us today! All have been spayed or neutered, dewormed, are current on their shots, and are healthy to our knowledge and belief. They have been tested for leukemia and aids. All of our cats and kittens are microchipped and we register the microchip for you.
While we do not euthanize positive kittens or cats, we do not adopt leukemia positive kitties but hope that someone can take one into their homes. We will adopt FIV positive kitties with information on taking care of them. We cannot guarantee a kitten's health since we do not know the origin of some of the kittens and cats we have but we offer a 48 hour change of heart policy.
If for any reason you need to return a kitten, we will refund your adoption fee in 30 days from the return of all of the original paperwork and the kitten or cat if you contact us within 48 hours of the adoption. You may complete an online adoption application or come to the store. While e-mail is the best method of communicating, when writing or calling, please give the kitten's name as we don't refer to them with a number. Quick note, we have many kittens that do not appear on the web site yet who will be available at one of our adoption venues, so if you do not see the kitten of your dreams on the web site, please come to the store.
In order to adopt, you must be over 18. If you rent, a lease showing that a pet deposit has been paid must be provided. There will be a home inspection at our discretion. We ask that if you have small children or are married or have a significant other,please bring them with you so we can see how they interact with the kittens. If the kitten or cat will be by itself for a long stretch of time (more than 3 hours), consider adopting an adult who is used to being by itself, or, adopt siblings or a playmate.
We offer a "two-fer"* adoption fee, which is a significant discount on our regular adoption fees. YOU MUST BRING A PET CARRIER WITH YOU IN ORDER TO TAKE YOUR KITTEN HOME. No kitten will be taken from the premises without a carrier.
Please Note....
Until further notice, we cannot accept anymore kittens as it isn't fair to them to give them substandard care. We will work with you if you are able to foster them for a few weeks until we have more foster folks in place and we will provide you with advice and medicine as needed. Please note, we do not accept any relinquishments at the adoption venues unless you have prior approval from the Board of Directors. There is a pro-rated relinquishment fee for turning in kittens to us so we ask that you not put us in the position of having to turn you away at the store. Any kittens that have been preapproved for relinquishment by the board must be in sturdy plastic or metal carriers or cages that become the property of Candy's Cats, Inc. There are no exceptions to this.
